What if robot technology could help us further increase efficiency safety and even diversity on construction sites while allowing elevator technicians to focus-on what they do best?

A stretch of the imagination?

Reality shows that elevator technicians spend a lot of time on construction sites carrying around tools and parts, what can be strenuous and in some cases dangerous.

Schindler recently conducted a pilot involving ‘Spot’ and autonomous robot dog engineered by Boston Dynamics to assess how the technology performs in a construction site environment and determine how efficient the four-legged robot is in helping our techs performing their job.

The technology has the potential to cut back elevator installation time, reduce accidents on construction sites, and create a more inclusive and diverse workplace by removing the need to handle the heavy work loads.

What’s for sure is that Schindler may be unleashing innovation.
