Iolani Hackers is at it again!  A walk-in dance party now replaces the prior Frank Sinatra themed Sullivan Center elevator.  Iolani Hackers continues to go above and beyond by creating innovative and original designs that leave both students and teachers flabbergasted on a daily basis.  Upon walking into the elevator, a DJ station complete with two screens on the outside with dials and other buttons, as well as an iPad in the center that controls the song choices.  What is remarkable about this design is that it is interactive as well!  You are actually able to turn the CDs on the iPad like a DJ would in order to get the full effect.  Colorful lights on the surrounding walls and ceiling also contribute to create a powerful ambiance.  Thanks to Iolani Hackers, the Sullivan Center elevator’s new design hopes to bring a laugh or two to students and faculty, and maybe even give them a short mental break between periods as they sing along to their favorite songs. – See more at: http://www.imuaonline.org/top-stories/2014/04/02/iolani-hackers-takes-elevator-music-to-a-new-level/comment-page-1/#comment-79439

The new, $23 million Sullivan Center for Innovation and Leadership at Iolani School has an elevator that students periodically take over and redesign. Previously, the elevator had a ‘Frank Sinatra’ theme. When this video was taken in April 2014, it was a ‘walk-in dance party’ with an interactive iPad DJ station, designed by ʻIolani Students’.
